Putteridge footballers strike again

Please see the match report to read about the football team's continued success.

Putteridge travelled to play Hillborough Junior School on the 15th November.

Daniel O, Mason F, Alfie P, Joe F, Charlie S, Jack S, Jack W, Alfie Pe & Callum B

Putteridge started the game really positively, passing the ball well and keeping possession. Putteridge knew it was going to be a very competitive game with both schools fielding strong teams. Luckily for Putteridge, they got the opening goal from an excellent counter attack which was finished off incisively by Daniel O. A few moments after the restart, Putteridge conceded from a long ball into the area which flicked off a Putteridge player, leaving the goalkeeper stranded.

Half time 1-1

The second half started at a high tempo, with both teams struggling to keep the ball or create many attacking moves. Putteridge then started to win the ball much further up the pitch, allowing them to control the tempo of the game - this resulted in a wonder strike from Callum B and another flowing team goal finished off by Daniel O.

A special mention to Jack W in goal, who had a fantastic game.

The team is really starting to gel and are putting in some fantastic team performances - every player is playing their part in the team’s success.

Putteridge’s next game is next week against Someries Juniors.

Well done again to all the players and thank you to the parents who came to support.
