Putteridge Primary School

Footballers brave weather to earn hard fought victory.

Putteridge played an away fixture at Surrey Street Primary School on Thursday 16th November with the final result standing at Putteridge 2, Surrey Street 0.
The Putteridge team consisted of:
Alfie B (GK), Finn J, Kyran H, Tekari S-W, Jay J , Thomas B, Jack S, Daniel O & Charlie G.
Putteridge started the match quickly putting the Surrey Street team  under lots of pressure from the first whistle.  Putteridge maintained possession throughout the first half and created lots of chances which unfortunately  were either saved by the Surrey Street goalkeep or going narrowly wide.
The breakthrough came when Putteridge won possession and attacked down the right with purpose, and after some fantastic build up, the ball fell to Charlie G who struck a fierce half volleyed shot high into the goal. Another goal soon followed for Putteridge with Charlie scoring another excellent team goal, aided by great Putteridge team involvement.
Surrey Street had their chances in the game and had lots of possession throughout, however Putteridge defended excellently and prevented Surrey Street from making any clear cut opportunities. It was fantastic to see how well the team played and this result showed how well they have gelled as a team.
Thank you very much to the parents who braved the weather and provided transport for the team.
