Footballers strike again

Read how the football team kept their nerve and came from behind to win with a last gasp goal.

Putteridge played their penultimate match of the pool stage against Pirton Hill on Thursday 28th Novmeber.

Calum B, Alfie P, Charlie H, Charlie A, Brodie B, David S, Aiden F, Jack D & Jack W

Putteridge started the game very well, keeping possession of the ball and getting some early shots on target. The Pirton Hill goalkeeper made some excellent saves to deny Putteridge an early goal. The goal finally came from a David S corner which went directly into the back of the net. Pirton started to trouble the Putteridge defence and scored 2 quick fire goals just before half time.

Half time Putteridge 1 vs Pirton Hill 2

The second half started with good early pressure from the Putteridge team, keeping the majority of possession -  this resulted in a goal from Jack D. With the score at 2-2 and under a minute left, the game was won with an excellent goal from Charlie A, with a clinical strike into the top corner. Well done to the whole squad who put in an excellent performance.

The last game of the pool stage is on Monday 2nd December.

Thank you to all of the parents for showing their support to the team.
