Putteridge Primary School

School Council

Welcome to the School Council's area of our school website.

Here you will find information about how the school council is helping to shape teaching and learning at Putteridge Primary School.

School Council 2018-19

Each year one representative from each class, Year 1 through to Year 6, is elected democratically by the children to be their ‘pupil voice’ within school. These children meet approximately once a month to work on specific projects to improve life in school or support identified charities. This year we are hoping to promote reading by joining a national sponsored read - Read for Good. The money raised will purchase books and stories for children in hospitals via mobile bookcases and resident storytellers. For taking part in the read, the school will also receive free books of our choice. In addition to this, we will be continuing to support Luton Foodbank.

Links with other schools are also important to us. We have an established link with Maidenhall Primary who are similar in size to us and have already taken part in a successful visit to them, allowing our councillors to experience another school environment. During this year, we are hoping to build links with other schools in our local area and to share ideas around projects that the school council may wish to be involved in.
